- Biography
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Ms. Nilsen has found working for the under-represented of her community to be the most fulfilling and enlightening choice for her legal career. Experience such as organizing tenants in a low rent apartment building to demand better services from their landlord and holding a Bay Area employer accountable for severe racial discrimination including hanging a noose in the manager’s office have influenced and inspired Ms. Nilsen to work tenaciously for civil rights and equality. Currently, Ms. Nilsen works as an associate attorney for Kumin Sommers LLP, focusing primarily on employment law matters such as discrimination and wage and hour complaints.
